After living in the Ottawa area for almost 20 years, I am now based out of Toronto. Programming is something I've loved since first experiencing it. Ruby on Rails, Sinatra, and JavaScript/CoffeeScript are what I'm especially good at. In other words, share you web-application vision with me and I can make it reality.
Automating workflows and livening mundane processes are what I'm most passionate about. An app to buy my groceries as needed, deliver milk to the fridge and cereal to the pantry, and expunge moldy cheese, is somewhere on my todo list.

While at Fluent Solutions, I developed a simple portfolio website for a third-party contract. The goal was to build a temporary portfolio to later build upon. My role included communicating with the client to determine what they wanted, building the product, and shipping it. The client was happy with the result.
While at Shopify, I was the lead developer on the new App Store, working with a talented designer and developer advocate. My role included shaping requirements, creating developer endpoints to jump into any part of stateful workflows, developing the underlying mechanics, and shipping it.
In addition to the above samples, I have experience with interactive rails applications, site scraping and automation, and performance optimization.
